Primp and preen: Erin Heatherton and Adriana Lima backstage at the show earlier today

They're some of the most beautiful women in the world, with faces and figures to die for.

But even the seemingly perfect Victoria's Secret models need a little bit of help before they hit the runway.

The ladies were seen backstage earlier today before their big show, getting their hair and make-up done and trying on their costumes.

Easy! Alessandra Ambrosio gets her hair done backstage

Adriana Lima, Chanel Iman, Selita Ebanks, Erin Heatherton, and Alessandra Ambrosio were amongst the models hanging around and clearly having a good time as they geared up for the big show.

And there will be a new face in the crowd too: singer Katy Perry will be joining the ladies on the runway this year.

With her killer curves and sultry style, Katie is a perfect fit for the lingerie label.

Country glam: The Victoria's Secret Angels try on their runway costumes

Put em up! The models are preparing for the big show by getting comfortable in their costumes

Conspicuously absent is Heidi Klum, who bowed out of the Victoria's Secret label recently, and Miranda Kerr, who is too busy being an expectant mother to join her fellow Angels.

Miranda, 27, recently spoke about her pregnancy, saying she couldn't be more excited about her growing family.

'For me, family is life,' she told W magazine. 'The decision to start one wasn’t complex at all… We’re keeping [the sex of the baby] a surprise.'

Angel wings: This year's costumes are as elaborate as ever

And she revealed that she realised she was pregnant while working in a Jill Sanders campaign.

'I was wondering why I’d been so sick,' she said.

And she's ready to focus on the joys of motherhood.

Superhero: The runway costumes are usually elaborate and heavy, making walking in them a challenge

She says: 'My career has been wonderful, but it’s not my life. I don’t feel pressure to get back to work. My goal involves a hammock, a vegetable patch, and a solar-powered house. And I hope to eventually get there.'

Model Doutzen Kroes was also not present backstage, as she got married to DJ/producer Sunnery James on Monday in her home town of Eastermar in the Netherlands.

Kroes who is also the face of L'Oreal Paris apparently had an intimate ceremony with just 30 family and friends in attendance to witness her saying 'I do'.

Flag that girl! Racing themes are clearly in this year

Angels on earth: The Victoria's Secret Angels are impossibly toned and trim

The bride tweeted her joy yesterday: 'Today is a day to never forget! My girlfriends are the best!!!'

The dress was apparently a white strapless empire waistline grecian style gown with a matching veil.

She had told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf earlier in her pregnancy: 'Sunner and I are in the clouds'.
