Snow fun: Sarah Jessica and her husband Matthew Broderick play in the snow
With heavy snow in New York causing travel chaos and ruining the holiday plans of many, it might be imagined that everyone is hoping for a thaw.
But there is one little boy delighted with the wintry weather.
Sarah Jessica Parker and husband Matthew Broderick spent the day playing with their son James Wilkie in the snow, throwing snowballs and chasing one another around
Eight-year-old James, wrapped up warmly in a scarf and gloves and warm orange coat, seemed thrilled by the undivided attention of his parents, as they messed around near their home in the West Village neighbourhood of Manhattan.
His little sisters, twins Marion and Tabitha, stayed at home in the warm, the one-year-olds too young for the cold weather.
In an interview with January's Elle magazine, Parker, who is arguably most famous for playing Carrie Bradshaw in Sex And The City, spoke about welcoming her twins, who were born to a surrogate following years of unsuccessful fertility treatment.

'Meeting them is hard to describe,' she said. 'Everything is suspended. I can’t even tell you what other sounds were in the room.
'I loved them immediately, but everything - their size, the shape of their heads, the color of their hair, their noses, their eyes - was new to me.
'They looked surprisingly different from James Wilkie, which I wasn’t expecting.'
Joining in the fun: Sarah's husband, Matthew Broderick, also came along to play in the snow with his son
Parker is set for a busy 2011, with two projects set to film.
She is due to star in the screen version of Allison Pearson's chick-lit novel I Don't Know How She Does It as a woman juggling motherhood with a career.
And the actress will also join the likes of Zac Efron, Robert de Niro and Jessica Biel in New Year's Eve, the sequel to this year's comedy Valentine's Day.

Meanwhile, Parker has not been the only one who has been out and about in New York following the city's heavy snowstorm.
Actress Liv Tyler braved the elements to take her dog Neal for a walk in the West Village, wrapping up warm in a big black coat with a fur trimmed hood, blue woolly hat and green Hunter wellies.
And although Neal didn't look too impressed by the snow, she gave him some respite from the cold walk by carrying him for part of the way.

Meanwhile rapper 50 Cent posted pictures of himself shovelling snow on his Twitter page - and joked that he might even be able to make some money from the weather.
'I'm going out to shovel snow and see if I can make me a few extra dollars today. I'm charging more if they want to take pictures,' he wrote.
'I want a hundred dollars per house. I bet anybody I'll make a grand moving snow today. LOL. I want a hundred dollars if you're stuck. I'll get you out.'
