You've been tangoed! Alex gets more than she bargained for in Big Brother tanning challenge

By HOLLY THOMAS

Suspicions growing: Alex was initially thrilled to the part in her task, however her enthusiasm lessened as her tan became more extreme

As part of the day's challenge, all housemates were require to answer 'yes' to any request made by Big Brother in order to win a luxury shopping basket.

However Alex's task left her in a visibly darker mood.

In what initially appeared a lucky break, the McDonalds worker was repeatedly asked if she wanted a spray tan.

Resigned: It soon became clear that this wasn't going to be the experience Alex had hoped for

It was exactly the kind of assignment she could have hoped for, however as the 19-year-old was called back again and again, the novelty quickly wore off.

After her first session in the makeshift salon, Alex emerged with a delighted 'Oh my God!'

Rushing into the diary room, she cried 'I've just had a spray tan, I've just had a spray tan!' to her fellow housemates.

Worry: Alex started to think that the challenge had gone beyond a joke
'They asked me if I wanted one, and I was like, yes!' she boasted.

As she grew browner Alex's enthusiasm started to lessen however, and her extremely tanned skin made a stark contrast to her Barbie pink lipstick and blonde hair.

After her fourth session Alex emerged from the booth looking markedly disgruntled, and pulled down her knickers to reveal the startling tan line she had developed.

Ignorance is bliss: At first Alex thought that the tanning was a nice treat

Dark mood: Alex's expression as she emerged from her fourth session was unamused

Unsympathetic: Her housemates found Alex's plight hilarious, cheering as she showed off her bronzed form

'You look like you've been rolling around in s**t,' remarked one of her fellow housemates generously.

'This isn't a tan. It was funny the first time, the second time, look at this, it's not even a colour,' complained a deflated Alex.

Heavenmade a brave attempt to cheer Alex up, joking: 'The darker the berry, the sweeter the juice.'

Words of comfort: Nothing Louise said could cheer miserable Alex up

Shock: Maisy and Faye couldn't believe their eyes when they saw Alex
